Stability analysis of interconnected event-based control loops ⋆

چکیده
In event-based control the feedback link within a control loop is only closed when an event indicates the need for information exchange among the sensors, controller and actuators to maintain a required loop performance. The event-based control loop is a hybrid dynamical system, which is characterized by a sequence of continuous state flows and discontinuous state jumps at the event times. This paper analyzes the stability of interconnected decentralized eventbased control loops where events are triggered asynchronously. A stability criterion is derived using the comparison principle. It is shown that conditions that are sufficient to prove the stability of the continuous control system imply ultimate boundedness of the event-based statefeedback loop. The conservatism of the proposed stability test is evaluated for a thermofluid process.

Decentralized event-based control: Stability analysis and experimental evaluation
Event-based control aims at reducing the amount of information which is communicated between sensors, actuators and controllers in a networked control system. The feedback link is only closed at times at which an event indicates the need for an information update to retain a desired performance. Between consecutive event times the control loop acts as a continuous system, whereas at the event t...
متن کاملApplication of ANN Technique for Interconnected Power System Load Frequency Control (RESEARCH NOTE)
This paper describes an application of Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) to Load Frequency Control (LFC) of nonlinear power systems. Power systems, such as other industrial processes, have parametric uncertainties that for controller design had to take the uncertainties in to account. For this reason, in the design of LFC controller the idea of robust control theories are being used. To improve ...
متن کاملOn Event-Triggered Adaptive Architectures for Decentralized and Distributed Control of Large-Scale Modular Systems
The last decade has witnessed an increased interest in physical systems controlled over wireless networks (networked control systems). These systems allow the computation of control signals via processors that are not attached to the physical systems, and the feedback loops are closed over wireless networks. The contribution of this paper is to design and analyze event-triggered decentralized a...
متن کاملLoad frequency control of two-area interconnected power system using fuzzy logic control approach
Power systems are composed of power units that are constantly connected to each other and the electric power flux is constantly moving between them. All systems must be implemented in such a way that not only under normal conditions but also unwanted inputs or disturbances, are applied. It also remains stable or returns to a stable name at the earliest possible time. The fundamental factors...

This paper presents a constructive algorithm to design local controllers for feedback systems that are interconnected via time-varying and asynchronous sampling. These systems result in many application fields such as remotely-operated systems, interconnected vehicle control loops, and more generally in component-based control design where synchronous exchange of information is not feasible.
